Anonimo Chrono Militare: 20 years already
Founded in 1997 in Florence by former Officine Panerai employees, the watchmaker upholds that the product should be more important than the brand, hence its name, Anonimo (anonymous in Italian). The company was acquired by the Promobe group in 2013, and since then it has been established in Switzerland. Anonimo offers watches expressing power and strength. This year, it is presenting a new version of its Militare bicompax chronograph, which is commemorating its 20th anniversary.
Anonimo Chrono Militare, between vintage spirit and elegance
It is a revamped version of a watch developed in 2001 for Italian combat divers. Its originality lies in the ingenious mechanism that features the crown between the lugs at 12 o’clock. This crown guard ensures that the timepiece is water resistant to 120 metres.
Inspired by Italian elegance, the case is cushion shaped. The timepiece measures 43.5 mm in diameter and is crafted in steel with PVD and DLC coating.

The dial features numerals positioned in a triangular layout at 4, 8 and 12 o’clock in reference to the “A” for Anonimo. A 30-minute totalizer at 9 o’clock and a small seconds counter at 3 o’clock stand out on a hand-brushed grey background. The chronograph hand, the railway-style minute track on the flange, the indexes, the 30-minute totalizer hand and the chronograph start push-button are orange.
The watch houses a self-winding movement from Sellita, the Swiss-made SW 300 with a bi-compax DD2035M chronograph module developed exclusively for Anonimo. It has a power reserve of 42 hours. Lastly, in honour of its origins, Anonimo has opted for a fine leather strap handcrafted in Italy. The strap is anthracite grey with orange stitching and has a titanium pin buckle.
