Swiss watchmaker Baume & Mercier has decided to expand its Hampton collection with new contemporary pieces.

Inspired by the Art Deco movement, the 2020 version of the Hampton model retains its rectangular shape and its particular design codes: bursts of bright colours, luxurious materials, straight lines and symmetry. At the same time, however, its curves are more fluid and its right angles, rounded. The dial, which is protected by a domed sapphire glass, is adorned with Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock as well as riveted indexes. Meanwhile, the hands are sword-shaped.

Hampton for men

The men's versions come in three models: A classic three-hand version (43 x 27.5 mm) – A three-hand version with small seconds and the date (48 x 31 mm) – A dual time version with a big date function and a day/night indicator (48 x 31 mm)

The watches house a self-winding movement whose oscillating weight is decorated with "Côtes de Genève" visible through the open case back. The power reserves range from 38 to 42 hours, depending on the model.

Hampton for women

The small pieces (35 x 22.2 mm), designed for women’s wrists, contain a new-generation quartz movement with an optimised seven-year reliability. Available with a silver, sun satin-finished blue or diamond-set white mother-of-pearl dial, each watch has a solid case back that can be custom engraved.

In addition, the steel bracelet is interchangeable.

Baume & Mercier also gives women the freedom to play with colour and match the new Hampton to whatever they’re wearing. There are thus 14 leather straps in dazzling shades: ocean, coral, turquoise, lime, green, black, orchid, mauve, passion fruit, poppy, mango, pistachio, powder pink and ice blue. Enough to keep the summer alive during the long months of winter…

In 1943, the creation of the Pasha de Cartier watch illustrated techniques that were true technological feats. A round case that is watertight to 10 bar (100 metres), sword-shaped hands, a screw-down crown cover secured to the case by a dainty chain… This unique timepiece is an example of elegance and power.

A contemporary design

To this day, the iconic Pasha has lost none of its power to seduce or its unique design. Available in several sizes and materials, diamond set or plain, the new edition of the Pasha is an eye-catcher that retains all of its original distinctive traits.

In keeping with its iconic "square inside a circle" concept (the square for the railway minute track and the circle for the shape of the dial), it features many of its signature design elements. Indeed, the four oversized Arabic numerals are still there, as are the four clous de Paris and the chained crown cover.

The new Pasha, the epitome of sophistication

Today’s new Pasha is packed with functions and design details that enhance its appearance and make it exceptionally comfortable. The crown, a key element of its design, adds to its highly refined aesthetics. Meanwhile, the stunning winding mechanism, which is hidden under the fluted crown cover, has a blue spinel in the steel version and a sapphire in the gold version.

In addition, there is an undetectable secret customisable engraving in the form of initials under the crown cover that is only revealed by unscrewing the chained crown. Powering the timepiece is calibre 1847 MC, a movement that is resistant to the magnetic fields to which we are exposed every day.

Lastly, you can easily take advantage of the wide selection of interchangeable straps thanks to the adaption of the QuickSwitch system, a Cartier-developed mechanism located under the case that is activated by a single push.
